what's black and white and red all over?

what's black and white and re(a)d all over?  i remember that riddle from when i was in elementary, and being baffled by it.  all i could think was black and white, a zebra... but when would a zebra be red all over? i never would have figured out the answer... a newspaper! but what else is black, white and red? my outfits as of late.

i love this dress, and i've worn it tons, but always in the same style. black belt, plain black tights, and black chelsea crews.  yesterday i decided it was time to try some pattern-mixing.  i almost changed my tights to plain black ones three times before leaving the house, and finally i said "no, it looks fine, stoppit." as per usual, throughout the day i started to get more comfortable with the two patterns, and love the mix!

these tights are my favourite tights, along with the nude with black polka dot version that i have.  i love how they look like plain polka dot tights, but then with a twirl, or a certain movement, you'll glance the garter pattern in them. it's such a fun little surprise! i'm all about the subtle details.

first, these photos of the beach in front of our house.  we aren't right on the water, it's about a 2 minute walk. just cross the street, and the lane to get to the beach is right there.  it's mostly large rocks, so it's not really a place to go lay at the beach, as it's pretty clumsy just to walk on them, but it does make for a gorgeous walk when the sun is setting.  we really lucked out with our house.  i'm glad we decided to take advantage of our beautiful tuesday and walk on the beach, because yesterday the rain started, and it isn't supposed to let up until next week.
