I didn't actually plan on wearing an outfit that matched my new blog look today, it just very co-incidentally happened, but I'll take it as a happy coincidence. I've been toying with the idea of giving 'small town, BIG SMILE!' a face lift for some time, and I figured since I'm a recent affiliate with a few online stores that now is as good a time as any to revamp the blog.
I debated the new look for sometime... should I go custom? Find an existing template that works for me? Should I stay shabby-chic or go more retro? I wanted it to coincide with my style, but let's be honest, that can range anywhere from the 40s to the 80s, with some more vintage touches or more modern styles. In the end, I stumbled upon some of Kate's blog templates, and I really liked this one. I thought it was a very happy medium with all of the different thoughts I was having. While it's not custom, it's still different than the blogger templates, and it feels both cleaner and more put together than my old one did. In the end, I felt that 50's housewife/60's diner was the feel I wanted, and this definitely had it all.
I also decided that with this new blog look, and wanting to start promoting 'small town, BIG SMILE!' more, it was time for an authentic blog facebook page, and not my own personal facebook page. So if you're so inclined, please fee free to join my page on facebook. I'd love to get to know some of you and hear some thoughts!

ReplyDeleteI love the layout of your blog and am excited for you to be starting an FB page. I like the outfit to (saw it via Modcloth style gallery first, which lead me to your page) but am sad the photos are small and therefore I can't see much in the way of detail. Still cute though.
ReplyDeleteHi Kristian! Thanks for the input on the blog photos! I also find them small... I've been playing with the size of them due to the new blog template, but I'll definitely keep this in mind and make them larger. :)
