Mint & Crochet...

Mint and polka dots... is there any combination more perfect? I absolutely adore this dress, and I feel so bad that it sits in my closet over the winter months, just waiting to be worn again.  While this look is definitely still more summery than winter, I still opted to post it now. The vintage crochet capelet does give some added warmth to the outfit.

dress: hell bunny via modcloth
shoes: spring

I spotted this little cape in one of Oh So Lovely's instagram photos, and just had to have it. It was also paired with a mint dress in the photo, and so began my inspiration for this outfit. The shop itself is in Winnipeg, but they're always willing to ship any items you spot in their photos, and I love supporting Canadian shops.

I definitely can't wait to wear this capelet in the summer on cool days and evenings! It'll add that touch of sophistication to any outfit.

  1. You look lovely! I've never been one to follow seasonal fashion rules -- most dresses can be winterized with a pair of tights & a sweater :)

    1. I completely agree... I don't necessarily follow the seasonal rules either. Some dresses (in my opinion) are hard to switch up seasonally... this one in particular because it's so long/poufy that I find it looks awkward with tights.

  3. I have this dress too and loooove it. The capelet looks perfect with it. I think this dress is definitely hard to winterize, since it doesn't really look right with most tights. I feel like sheer tights (or maybe white ones) and a petticoat would be the best way, but it's still tough with this fabric, I think! Rebecca from The Midnight Maniac wore it in a cool way last winter, with a red sweater over it, I think. Also, loving your hair SO much.

    1. I so agree Sammi! It's so hard to winterize. I normally pair it with red as well, and polka dot sheer tights, for the colder months.
