Not So Red Riding Hood...

When the seasons start to change, I always have the habit of going through my closet, attempting to clean it out of the clothes I no longer wear, to make room for some new items.  This season is no different. For any of you who follow me on instagram, you may have noticed that I recently opened a "shop my closet" account.

 dress, tights: modcloth
cape: vintage

I love this dress. I coveted it, I finally splurged, and bought it. And I still love it, but yet it seems I rarely wear it.  Isn't that the case with so many items in our closets? I've been debating adding it to my shop my closet, not because I don't want it, but because I honestly just rarely wear it, and I hate when that's the case with a truly awesome piece.

I bought these tights at the same time I bought the dress. While they're completely fun and unique with they're embroidered Red Riding Hood theme... they're quite short for me.  The legs just aren't long enough for my legs, and so they're not comfortable.  I've worn them maybe twice for that reason. I thought pairing them with this dress might remind me how much I love them both, and inspire me to wear them more! We'll see if this dress stays in my closet, or gets added to the Shop My Closet...

  1. Oh my goodliness, that herringbone capelet you have up in your store is so cute! If only it would fit me, I'd buy it in a heartbeat! Good luck selling all of your items. They're gorgeous so I'm sure you'll have no trouble :)

  2. The dress is such a lovely colour and it really is a shame when things just sit around in the wardrobe. I try to rotate everything but I am in need of a decent clean out.

The pattern on the tights look pretty cute :)

  3. This whole outfit is beautiful <3 I would love to buy that dress, but alas my bright pink hair makes me weary of wearing mustard.

How you part with such lovely pieces is amazing to me..even if I find myself not wearing something I end up being too sentimental to let it go. Although, I suppose it allows you to just buy more things you love later on c:

    1. Delores, I have a HARD time parting with my clothes. Inevitably, it comes down to the fact that I feel bad that I'm not wearing an item often, and that someone else probably would! I'd rather someone have it, love it, and actually wear it, than to have it sit in my closet.

  4. I have the same problem with a few items in my wardrobe. I love them, but rarely wear them...still, I can't part with them. That dress is so cute on you. I love the color and collar detail. I like the look of your lovely cape paired over it. Sorry to hear your tights are uncomfortable, I hate it when that happens. They do go perfectly with this outfit, though.

  5. First of all, love this dress on you -- and I'm so jealous of your ability to pull of mustard yellow! It never looks right with my complexion, which is such a shame. I love it paired with the cape (one of my favorite pieces of yours!), and of course, since I have those tights, I love them too... even though they are WAY too short on me (I know we've talked about this). I always have to end up wearing a pair of Spanx or shorts over them so they stay up (embarrassing)! I dunno why that brand has this problem, especially because I don't remember them coming in 2 sizes! Anyway, you look darling, and I have such a hard time parting with clothes too, but it looks like your sales are going well!!
