Cherries & Apple Blossoms...

Last weekend, Melissa wore this beauty of a dress to my bachelorette sleepover. She didn't feel like packing it up for our Quebec City trip, so she left it in my closet (she even put it in the red colour section of my closet!!).  When I realized she left it here, I just assumed it was purposely for me to wear. Why else would she leave such a cute dress in my closet for days on end??

This tree is the location of where we'll be saying our vows in FIFTEEN DAYS!!! It blossomed over the weekend, and I have to admit, it feels a bit like it's taunting me. Had we gotten married the weekend Dominic originally wanted to, this tree would have been in full bloom. That's right, at first he suggested the second weekend in June.  While I do wish this tree would still be in bloom for our wedding, I'm definitely happy we stuck with late June. Things are definitely coming along well, but I think having it last weekend would've been quite rushed.

I'm a huge fan of red. And cherries... the food and the pattern! I almost bought the blue version of this dress, but hesitated because of the length. While this dress is nowhere "short", it seems so much shorter than my other circle skirts and dresses.  I've said it before, and I'll say it again, anything over the knee just feels too revealing these days! I sound like a prude saying it, but it's more that I just love that longer, full skirt style! Especially with a good petticoat underneath!

One of the girls on the weekend had a perfect little roll with her bangs. It was the inspiration for my hair today, but I didn't manage to get it as flawless as hers was.  My bangs are so long, but I don't want to risk trimming them in case I need them longer for the style I want for the wedding. I've been trying to be creative with them to keep them out of my eyes, but it's not an easy task for work days! I'm definitely looking forward to a good trim, both bangs and hair, after the wedding! I'm contemplating a big chop off the bottom. Thoughts??

  3. Ooh, love the dress! Isn't it so fun to find {or borrow!} new pretties to wear? I have to agree about the knee length thing though. It does feel so short after all my longer length skirts and dresses. I don't have many that are over the knee any more! ♡

  5. Well, I love your hair (both specifically in this photo set and in general), but I loved the change of getting a big chop after getting married. You'll look gorgeous no matter what.

    Oh my! count down time!

Also, you look adorable in that dress. Like you, I like long skirts but this one is fun just above the knee!
