Checkers, Cherries & Polka Dots!

I'm almost ashamed to post this outfit. I *just* posted this dress, it's way too early to post a remix! However, I did say "almost", for two reasons: 1. As I mentioned, I'm having a hard time grabbing photos after work because it's getting dark so early, and I'm currently in Toronto, and this was my only saved outfit. 2. I feel like this combination is so fabulous that it's okay to post it so soon! Am I wrong?

vintage dress: borrowed from Marisa
cardigan: forever 21
brooch: luxulite
shoes: miss l fire
belt: from another dress

I'm absolutely in love with this dress. I need to get a gingham shirtdress asap! It looks great on its own, with mint AND polka dots... and I also paired it with cobalt tights and white shoes. I regret not taking photos of that outfit. It was a perfect outfit for all of you Red-White-and-Blue ladies!

And again with this brooch. Are you guys tired of seeing it yet? Because I'm definitely not tired of wearing it. This huge collar was just screaming for a brooch! I'm absolutely over-the-moon with all of the fabulousness of this dress. I'm definitely going to be stalking Marisa's etsy shop in hopes that this dress finds its way there! Have you guys checked out her shop?? She has a yellow gingham dress and a navy scooter dress (that would be divine with red tights!) that I'm coveting right now!

See you in September!

As I look at these pictures, I'm thinking I *may* have made a mistake. I got this dress in a swap. I love the style of it, with the little bolero jacket. When I saw it up for swap in my size, I had to jump on it. The problem is that I have a dress in the same fabric already. While I love mint green and polka dots (especially together!), two similar dresses just weren't practical. I debated which I should put up for swap... and this was the one that went. I'm too attached to my other dress to give it up, and really, it's one I wear often. I wasn't sure how much wear I would get out of this one with the jacket.

dress/bolero: hell bunny official via swap
belt: from another dress
shoes: miss l fire
earrings: aldo accessories
lipstick: besame carmine

I opted to swap this dress for another hell bunny dress in a more practical style, and a different colour. While I'm sad to see this one go (but happy I opted to take some pictures in it before sending it out!), I'm excited for the other dress to arrive. It's in lilac, which is such a spring and summer colour, I'm hoping to get a chance to at least wear it once before autumn really hits!

I will say this... after looking at these pictures, I absolutely love the style of this dress. While I still think my decision to swap it was a good one because of the colour, I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for this dress in another colour.  I absolutely love it in the blue and the black

So this is it folks, my last post before we venture out on our honeymoon! In my little two week hiatus, I'll definitely be taking lots of photos to share with you when we return! As The Tempos said, See you in September!

Housewife Home Sweet Home...

Home Sweet Home indeed! These shoes were my wedding shoes and they were such a great purchase. So many people buy shoes they can only wear for the big day, or other formal events... but really, who has that many formal events to go to? I wanted these shoes. I needed these shoes. They were *perfect* for our backyard wedding! But the best part? Wearing my special-day shoes again and again. (Not to mention they also match the style of our house so well!)

dress: ruche (old)
shoes: miss l fire
scarf: thrifted
belt: from another dress
necklace: gift

These shoes. I mean really, they are gorgeous. And incredibly comfortable! They are just so cushion-y!! They were perfect shoes for a wedding day, but they're also super practical for everyday wear! Definitely an incentive to buy more Miss L Fire's, that's for sure!

Hendrix also decided to hop in for some true "Home Sweet Home"esque photos. Our furkids are snuggle-bugs, so I love when they decide to partake in my blog. Hendrix normally opts to wander around, and maybe just show his bum in the background (which I try to crop out), but there's the times when, if I'm sitting, he'll come sit with me.

I also have to add that I bought this dress two years ago, as it reminded me of a 50s housewife style of dress. I chose it for my first post-wedding outfit post for just that reason. I pictured wearing this dress while in the kitchen, baking some sweets. That's actually exactly what I did this week, in this dress. I'm so excited to be Dominic's wife, and just have that title, "Wife." I feel very house-wifey in this outfit, with our home in the background, and snuggles with our boy.
