Life lately...

As I mentioned in an earlier post, life lately has been pretty busy! Between getting engaged, planning a wedding, then getting married earlier this summer, you'd think life would have quieted down a little! Nope. Not a bit. We've had other weddings to attend, had a party here in our backyard with close friends to thank them for all they did for us and celebrate with them... we've done a few weekend trips and camping... and now I'm very busy working working work.

We're hosting an event next week with my work. From Sunday to Wednesday, all day activities and business sessions, 200+ people. It's exciting, don't get me wrong. I'm looking forward to seeing how all of our hard work will reveal itself! But it is just that, long, hard work. We've all been working extra hours to prepare for this event, and as prepared as we feel we are, things we didn't think of, or that could only be done at the last minute, are presenting themselves now.

shoes: chelsea crew

On top of all of this, we're also planning our honeymoon. It's very fast approaching, in just over 2 weeks (eeekk!!!!!). Switzerland and Italy for 15 days. We are beyond ecstatic for this trip! We're going to Montreux, Wengen (Jungfrau region), Florence and Venice. If you've ever been to any of these places or near these places and have recommendations / opinions / suggestions, please please do share them with me!!

So with all of this, balancing life and blogging has been challenging. I'm in no way giving up on my blog, and I do hope you see I'm trying to post regularly for the most part! Be patient, please. I'm definitely trying :)

Also, if you have any requests for posts, I'd love to hear those as well! Wedding posts will be coming after the honeymoon, once we've received our photos. After that, naturally, will be honeymoon posts and sharing our experiences in Europe.

  1. Such a pretty outfit and I love your hair here. I can never do vintage styles! I need help. Also... did I imagine you were going to Vegas? Did that already happen? Where have I been? Either way, your honeymoon sounds super-exciting and I can't wait to hear about it.

    1. This comment just made me laugh! I think you definitely imagined I was going to Vegas. It's not a place I'd choose to go for a vacation. hehe :)

  2. The top of the Duomo in Florence, it is a spectacular view of the city and is especially beautiful around sunset. Also the Uffizi (Florence) and the Guggenheim (Venice) are wonderful galleries.

  3. I totally debated about getting that top in my head and decided not to. I'm majorly regretting that decision now. You look beautiful! Good luck with your busy busy schedule

  4. Oh, I love you all vintage/retro-y. You will adore Venice. As a friend said, it is "a city so fantastical it could not be built on land, but is part of both sea and shore."

In Florence, make sure you go to the Uffizi museum. I'd buy/schedule tickets ahead of time. That way you don't have to wait in line (and can guarantee you'll get in in the first place), but it has amazing art.

  5. You look so cute! I love the spinning pictures especially. I have that top too and paired it with a black and white striped skirt, glad to see I wasn't the only one who thought yellow would work with black! :) Happy to have found your blog by the way, love your style!
